This freestanding Hotpoint front loading washing machine has a generous 12kg capacity and a maximum spin speed of 1400rpm, making it well suited to larger households. It has an A energy rating, and Hotpoint states it saves a further 30% energy compared with the minimum needed for A class when using the Eco 40-60 cycle.

Fabric Care technology uses a drum design that spreads detergent evenly and reduces friction, so it is twice as gentle on your laundry. ColourCare washes at lower temperatures to help keep colours vibrant. For everyday needs there is a Full Load 45' programme for a full load in 45 minutes, and Anti Stain, which is designed to tackle 24 common stains using higher heat, extra drum movement and longer rinses.

The HomeWhiz app lets you start a cycle, adjust settings and check progress from your phone. PetHairCare adds a prewash and an extra rinse to remove pet hair, while the SteamCare eco-cycle freshens clothes that are not ready for a full wash in just 17 minutes. It also offers Stop&Add, so you can add forgotten items during a cycle, and a Spin + Drain option.
