This freestanding Hotpoint washing machine takes loads of up to 12kg, which makes it a good fit for larger households or anyone who regularly washes bulky items. It spins at up to 1400rpm and has an A energy rating, with a Big Digit display and a black screen door.

Fabric Care is designed to give a gentler clean with less friction, so clothes look their best for longer. ColourCare washes at lower temperatures to help keep colours vibrant, and PetHairCare helps leave laundry free of hair. The Anti-Stain cycle tackles 24 common stains, from coffee and red wine to grass and curry. SteamCare is a 17-minute eco-cycle that freshens clothes that don't need a full wash, and Full Load 45' washes a full load in 45 minutes.

AutoDose measures out the detergent for you, and one fill is enough for up to 21 loads, based on a mix of quarter and half-load washes. The HomeWhiz app lets you start, pause and customise cycles from your phone and keep track of progress. The quiet inverter motor carries a 25-year lifetime certification from TÜV Rheinland, and a child lock stops settings being changed mid-wash.
