This freestanding front-loading washing machine from Indesit has an 8kg drum and a top spin speed of 1200rpm. It comes in classic white and is rated energy class A. The Inverter Motor is designed to help keep energy use down and cut vibration, so the machine runs more quietly, even when spinning.

Steam Assistance helps clothes come out softer and with fewer creases, which can cut down on ironing. The Push&Go with Steam cycle freshens a load in about an hour. Indesit says it can reduce ironing time by 30% in its own comparison test. There is also a Cotton + Steam cycle that relaxes the fibres of cotton garments in the final phase.

There are 15 wash cycles, including an Express 15 cycle for small loads in a hurry and other rapid programmes that each take under an hour. Wool and duvet programmes are included, so a range of fabrics and household items are covered. Water Balance Plus adjusts the water to suit each cycle to limit waste. The Delay option lets you set the wash to finish at a time that suits you, and Keylock stops little hands from changing settings or opening the door.
